Liqaa Ma’al Arab 46 Today Huzur was joined by the Amir of Iran. As this is the first session of the New Year, Huzur is asked to speak of what people should be doing during this month of Maharam. Huzur says that this month we should abstain form certain things, especially from crime. Huzur says that he believes this name is with reference to a prophecy, it was during this month that the Holy Prophet(saw) was so cruelly treated by people still ignoring the signs. Huzur says that sometimes piety becomes too trusting, and people can’t see the true mixed intentions of others. Huzur says that the people of Kufa kept sending letters to the progeny of the Holy Prophet(saw) saying that he should be the Khalifa and that his rights have been taken away from him, they said to come and we will support you. Hadhrat Ali(rt) was the Khalifa of the time of which there can not be two. Only Khalifa is sent to untie the Muslim states, but Hadhrat Ali(rt) was not accepted by all to be the Khalifa. Huzur says that Hadhrat Ali(rt) was the Khalifa for the whole universe, Islam was spreading through China and so even in China Hadhrat Ali(rt) was the Khalifa. Huzur says that all differences should have been directed to Allah and the Holy Qur’an, and Prophet Muhammad(saw) and his traditions. Huzur says that once a Muslim has been appointed Khalifa then no one has the right to rebel against the Khalifa, but one has a right to migrate. Huzur says that when Kufa was invaded, the man in charge was ordered to crush the rebellion. By the time he arrived the rebellion had already finished, they had already left. Huzur says that the saddest era in the history of Islam when the family of the Holy Prophet(saw) was attacked after his demise, Huzur says that we should pray for those who would not bow to an authority which would mean to sacrifice their principles. Huzur says that the people of Kufa stood their ground with principles and this is a good thing. People should take note from Hadhrat Ali(rt), who was not only spiritually at a very high level but also a very wise man. Huzur says that if he truly thought that Khalifa was in danger from the people of Kufa then he would have acted upon it.
