When the constitutional amendment of 1974 declares that believing in the advent of a prophet or reformer after the Holy Prophet (sa) excludes a person from the fold of Islam, what will be the status of Pakistani Muslims who await the second advent of Hazrat Isa (as)?
The scholars who declared Ahmadis as NON-believers in the national assembly had already declared each other NON-believers prior to that. So why was the constitutional amendment specifically aimed at Ahmadis?
In 1953, the scholars of Pakistan were unable to decide on the definition of a 'Muslim'. Twenty-one years then lapsed before they finally set out to agree on an ultimate definition. Nevertheless, they were still unable to answer the question: 'Who is a Muslim?' Rather, they managed only to determine—according to their standards—who is "not" a Muslim. So the question still stands: Who is a Muslim?
